  • Affirming our Pentecostal Holiness Heritage, we will prioritize a consistent atmosphere of consecration that emphasizes and actively embraces the necessity of biblical teaching, prayer and fasting, accompanied by apostolic authority and manifested through gifts of the spirit, miracles, signs and wonders.
  • Together, we will recommit ourselves to a kingdom culture that emphasizes the necessity of personal sanctification and life changing worship that is transformative and promotes a lifestyle of victorious Christian living.
  • We will boldly embrace our Pentecostal heritage while authentically ministering to future generations.
  • We will institute weekly National Prayer, led by departments and ministries of the church and resume our corporate days of fasting on Tuesdays and Fridays.
  • Bishop Sheard believes to reach the world we should repackage, not change the gospel. The Bible is right all by itself, so our endeavor is to declare its truth with clarity, at the appropriate times.
  • Develop and implement a fiscally sound and responsive plan that will be implemented across all functional areas of the church. This plan embraces our newly adopted quadrennial budgeting while carefully and collaboratively examining the current financial operating system.
  • Actively utilize the elected officers of the church to provide oversight and compliance to budgetary guidelines seeking to reduce excessive spending and provide budget accountability throughout national budgeting and spending.
  • Explore opportunities to develop multiple streams of income that don’t compromise what we stand for, both to augment the national budget and ultimately to cascade to jurisdictions and local churches.
  • Increase our local and global footprint by expanding our philanthropic presence
  • We will challenge ministry leaders to understand and embrace the new ways of giving as they build fiscally sound ministries.
  • Lead through crisis, boldly doing what is necessary to ensure that ministry continues no matter the obstacle.
  • Help pastors embrace technology by making technology user-friendly, offering insights on best practices, and sharing various ways to employ social media for ministry.
  • Explore options for helping pastors and ministry leaders obtain life and health, disability Insurance
  • Facilitate the effective management of our human capital, including recruiting and retaining ministry gifts within the denomination to foster a sense of family, along with shared accountability for fiscal management to protect the fiduciary integrity of all departments.
  • Frame the operational infrastructure of all National Departments & Ministries around centralizing and streamlining the processes and systems employed by each department and ministry.
  • National Departments & Ministries will function and focus in all conferences and throughout the year based on targeted objectives for their specific ministry, and all engagements will be evaluated routinely for efficacy, intentionality and relevance.
  • A revitalization of conferences and conventions within the Church of God in Christ that will provide a spiritually enriching, educationally robust and distinctively Pentecostal presence for each attendee. We will aggressively seek to retain and recapture the desire of our constituents to attend national conferences by creating schedules that maximize time, minimize redundancy, and promote ministry that is relationally relevant to the cultures, generations, citizens and countries that we serve.
  • All national conferences and conventions will be carefully considered for consolidation, and date placements that embrace the family first focus where we will also consider conference lengths, as well as quadrennial convention location planning.
  • Open the lines of communications with the various arms of the church: The General Assembly, the Board of Bishops, General Council of Pastors and Elders. Working with these entities to move our church with precision into the future.
  • Bishop Sheard plans to focus on the restoration and centrality of marriage and families as a cornerstone of the church and our communities
  • We will establish ministry leadership and programming to strengthen marriages and families by equipping the body with practical tools based on Biblical principles to holistically focus on all aspects of family wellness, including spiritual, physical and mental aspects
  • We must reaffirm our focus on training and educating our children according to biblical principles and passing our spiritual heritage to future generations;
  • As we work to empower families, we will ensure that the church is a refuge for the fatherless and offers healing for broken families.
